If you’ve read some of our last editions, you may have noticed that there is virtually a festival happening in Edinburgh every single month. However, it all culminates in the summer when the city celebrates a true festival season. Proceedings get under way in June with the Edinburgh International Film Festival.
Now in its 67th year, the Film Festival moved to its June date (19th to 30th) a few years ago. Whilst organisers were holding their breath to see how well it could do outside of August, audiences embraced the new date for one of Edinburgh’s most popular festivals. The full programme will be announced at the end of May, be we can already reveal to star of the closing night: Not Another Happy Ending, a romantic indie comedy set in Glasgow follows a maverick publisher who needs to try and make his most successful author more unhappy - all to release her writer’s block. Later in the summer, we’ll be gearing up for Edinburgh’s main festival month, August. Whether you’re looking to bop along to jazz music, savour the arts, watch world-class dance performances, roll with laughter and simply fancy listening to a good story – it’s all happening here over the course
